Jungle Safari

Janaki Jhar ( watch tower ) :– (10 kms)

Guests can trek on foot, bicycle or ride by Four wheel Jeep to a watch tower near a water hole which was selected by the King in the deep forest where animals abound. A small concrete hide with high walls all around was built, which still exists, from where the King would watch and shoot his choice game. Now abandoned by the state forest dept. This place takes you back on time.

Banjhiama Hamlet :- (4 kms)

An excellent trekking route of about 50 min.( one way ) to a small hamlet deep inside the forest surrounded by beautiful hills. Even though this hamlet very is close to civilization, this place is still quite primitive in every respect of life. One can see the old fashioned rice mill known as “dhenki” in operation. There is small pond which attracts elephant herds during peak summer. On the way one can see many rare birds, butterflies, insects and herbs etc. A beautiful route for nature walking and a great opportunity to see a remote village life. A must visit for all visitors.

Bhittarkanika National Park :– (120 kms)

This is the country’s second largest mangrove forest. It is an ecological paradise for any nature lover. Estuarine or the Salt water crocodile is the main attraction. The worlds largest saltwater crocodile measuring about 24feet, which is a Guinness record, is living in these waters. It is the home for many other rare species of animals and aquatic birds. A one of a kind nature reserve. A full day's excursion tour can be arranged including boats & taxis for the guests who wants to add this venture as part of their interest or desire.
